Arniston On Main

A pinkish dusk settles over the small fishing village of Arniston as the call of gulls fills its empty streets.

Arniston is a small, historical, and perhaps charming seaside village in South Africa. There are, though, two sides to this place: a modern yet rustic, well-to-do side, and a traditional yet struggling fishermen's village.

I took this portrait shot of the main street leading into the fishing village as dusk appeared. For me, it represents the tale of two cities. The century-old cottage homes and quaint homesteads that tie the community together speak strongly of decades of living and seem to harbor a tremendous sense of history. Yet the scene also evokes an unspoken daily struggle to earn a living and reflects the difficulty so many find in living with basic comforts. I found the setting of quiet isolation reverberated its subtle yet spartan beauty somehow.

Wild Shores Collection

Welcome to our wild shores, where the two worlds of turning ocean tides meet and dance with rocky, tumbling coasts and serene sandy shorelines. This is our place to taste the salty air that brings so much oxygen to our joy.

We explore the ever-present energy of the sea as it welcomes those who ride its tumbling waves, push through placid moments, and absorb its vast expanse. The sea, an ocean of the infinite, provides Mother Nature's oceanic forces to live in and find ourselves. We delight in its beauty, fly with its waves, and move through its tidal zones to find our moment of infinity.
